We’re so excited to share our latest features and improvements to the Embrace dashboard!

In this update, we’ll give a walkthrough of the additions to our Alerts page, including new filtering and support for alerts on Unity unhandled exceptions. Now you have even more control when creating alerts than ever before.

Here’s what we’ll cover in this post:

  • New filtering added to Alerts (including support for selecting specific app versions)
  • Unity unhandled exceptions support added to Alerts

New Filtering Added to Alerts

We’ve previously added powerful filtering to our User Sessions and Crash Summary pages to enable teams to drill down to the individual sessions and crashes they care about. We’re proud to announce we’ve extended this functionality to our Alerts page as well!

The new filter builder in the alerts creation process allows you to quickly configure the alert in one location. New functionality includes the ability to filter by App Version, so you can hone in on the versions you care about. For example, you can set lower thresholds to immediately catch spikes in new releases and set higher thresholds in older releases to only get notified when an issue demands your attention.

In addition, this update allows us to easily expand the metrics and attributes you will be able to use in the future. As we continue to roll out new categories of data, you’ll be able to leverage them in your hyper-targeted alerts.

Unity Unhandled Exceptions Support Added to Alerts

Now, you can get alerts on unhandled exceptions in Unity. You can set different configurations for native crashes and unhandled exceptions, so you have complete control over notifications for these different issue types.

And that’s it! Our new filtering on Alerts allows you to create version-specific alerts and streamlines our ability to add future metrics and attributes to our alerting system. For our Unity partners, they can now create alerts for unhandled exceptions to more easily monitor and be notified of regressions for that issue type.
