Meet Embrace at Game Developers Conference and Pocket Gamer Connects

Meet the Embrace team at Game Developers Conference and Pocket Gamer Connects to talk everything mobile gaming.

Game Developers Conference (GDC) and Pocket Gamer Connects (PGC) are two of the biggest gatherings of game developers, and in 2024 they’re happening during the same week in the same city! This year, we’ll be in San Francisco with our team from Monday, Mar. 18 through Friday, Mar. 22. Get our full agenda, or book some time with us if you’re around, here.

What to expect at GDC 2024

GDC is the leading conference for gaming developers. It provides a space for those who love gaming to get together and learn, ideate, and brainstorm about the industry. This year, the conference is projected to host over 24,000 attendees with more than 700 speakers, including from leading companies like Epic, Google, Meta, and Microsoft.

Each year, GDC hosts a variety of lectures, panels, and roundtable discussions about a variety of gaming topics like programming, game narrative, VR/AR, and more. We’re looking forward to sessions like “Unity Developer Summit: High-Fidelity Graphics on Mobile, VR, PC, and Consoles with Unity 6” presented by Unity and “Rethinking Mobile Game Discovery and Growth” presented by Qi Lu of Supernova Games. If none of these sessions catch your eye, GDC also offers networking opportunities and even an award ceremony to recognize the biggest feats in gaming.

What to expect at at PGC 2024

PGC is a conference led by PocketGamer.biz and PG Connects. The conference boasts nearly 1,000 attendees, more than 70 expert speakers, and over 350 attending companies. This conference focuses solely on mobile gaming and features talks, panels, and roundtables with a variety of industry experts. The talks span tracks including practical AI, game developer stories, and global trends.

Hear our CEO Eric Futoran speak at PGC 2024

We’re excited to have our CEO, Eric Futoran, speak on day one of Pocket Gamer Connects SF on Monday, Mar. 18 at 11:10 a.m. PST on the main stage during the talk “Great User Experiences vs. Successful Monetization: Perspectives from Industry Vets.

Eric Kress of Deconstructor of Fun will lead a session with Eric Futoran, who has an extensive background in mobile games as a co-founder of Scopely, and Tyler Nation, VP Product at Backbone, who brings experience from 2K, Scopely, and more. They’ll have a frank discussion around learnings from a decade of building mobile games and helping game leaders address make-or-break performance issues.

The constant state of building and rebuilding — new features, characters, environments, and economies — has its way of creating chaos within the code of the game. Throw in the additional complexity of successfully monetizing the game, and before you know it, engineers spend more time fixing things than they do being creative and shipping new features. They’ll address burning questions like:

  • How do you deal with ANRs from ad SDKs — who are the culprits? How do you catch them?
  • What metrics really matter to game devs?
  • What is the relationship between app quality and rankings?

Where to meet the Embrace team

Make sure you catch Embrace at each event, where we’ll have several of our team members in attendance all week.
